Risk Management
Position Sizing
Definition
Position sizing is the process of determining how many contracts to trade on a given setup based on account size, risk tolerance, and the distance to the stop loss. Proper position sizing ensures no single trade can cause catastrophic damage to the account. A common rule is to risk no more than 1-2% of total account equity per trade, adjusting the number of contracts accordingly.
