Trailing Stop

Definition

A trailing stop is a dynamic stop loss that automatically moves in the direction of a profitable trade, locking in gains while still allowing the position to capture additional upside. As the price moves favorably, the stop follows at a set distance (ticks, dollars, or ATR-based). If the price reverses, the stop stays in place and triggers an exit, protecting the accumulated profit.
